Our First Christmas :)

"Brrr...." Something freezing just touched my neck, my response was to burrow deeper underneath the fluffy down blanket. I slightly stir from sleep, curled up under the covers. "BRRR..." it happened again, i felt my body tense, and i hear a snorting sound from stifled laughter. Burt is sitting on the edge of the bed, poking me with icy fingers. "Do you want to get up yet?" he asks. "No, I don't want to get up. I want to sleep....Why are you poking me, anyways?" He smiles sheepishly, "I dunno... Please get up! It's Christmas!" After some urging i manage to pull myself out of bed, wrap myself in a blanky and wander out to the living room.

He has the Christmas tree all lit up, and i glance around the room taking in the various gifts. There is one giant box and 3 sleds. Oooh!!!! Sledding!!! Now i am wide awake. We make some hot chocolate and snuggle up on the couch with our presents.
Burt makes me open mine first, as he watches intently, like a little boy who can't wait for his surprise. I carefully unwrap the box, slicing all the pieces of tape with a knife. "Hurry up," he says, "I can't believe you're one of those people who saves every piece of wrapping paper." Finally i get the box open, and pull out 1 big winter jacket. It is black and blue, and has an side lining that zips out and can be worn as a wind breaker. But that is not all, deeper inside the box is another jacket, this one is green and black, with very similar features. :) Since he couldn't decide, he got both and let me pick my favorite. I have been in need of a good winter coat, so i am very excited to get them. :)
Now it's Burt's turn to open his gift, (a much smaller box) inside was a game. He loves games so i knew he would like this one. Next, the card, inside i had placed a small catalog for him to choose any longboard he wanted, with my approval. :) I don't know anything about them, so i thought it best that he picked a longboard for himself. As he opens the card, his eyes light up and I get a big bear hug.
I sit back on the couch and snuggle up...as he starts getting up to go out on the patio. Hello? it's freezing out there. "What are you doing?" I ask. He throws the patio curtains back, "Merry Christmas!" he hollers. Outside is a baby blue snowboard, with bindings and boots. Whoohooo!!! We have been wanting to go snowboarding forever, so now i am fully equipped to do so. I get up and stand at the patio door, just peering through the glass at my new snowboard. "We can bring them in," he says. "i know," i reply, "it's just so cold outside." Burt just laughs and brings everything in. He dresses me up in all my gear right there in our front living room. I must have been a sight to see, bed head, wrapped with a blanket around my middle, with snowboard jacket on top of everything, standing there in snowboard boots, hot chocolate in one hand and snowboard in the other. :)
We are having a wonderful first Christmas. :) Now all we need is snow for our sledding excursion!
